Reported in The Freeman's Journal (Dublin) on 27 Nov 1888
These were subscribers in East Clare to a fund described in the introductory paragraph of a letter being reported:
"We beg to acknowledge receipt of the subjoined subscriptions towards the fund to defray the expenses of Mr. Parnell and his colleagues in their costly contest against The Times and the Tory Government."
The transcribed names are listed alphabetically by parish. It does seem that some people are listed under both
Tomgraney and Bodyke. If these funds were collected at the church door and perhaps not all on the same
Sunday, then it was possible to have to give twice if a person attended services at different chapels in the
course of a month.
I tried making three columns in order to shorten the overall length of this posting, but that did not work.
The places listed are Tomgraney, Bodyke, and Dysart, which refer presumably to parishes.
